His trademark “Gilded Modernism” blends aspects of his commercial art background with the ancient traditions of Japanese leafing and Flemish glazing techniques. Guyton’s creative process is so singular that it is unable to be replicated through traditional printmaking methods. This means each and every artwork in our Guyton collection was created by the artist’s own hands. Once the board is covered, Guyton manipulates the metal with everything from chemicals to electrocution. He then paints directly on the metallic surface using dedicated brushstrokes.
