As the county seat of Toole County, Shelby has long served as a crossroads for north-central Montana. Located near the Canadian border and along major transportation routes, our community has a rich history rooted in agriculture, commerce, and regional service. From hosting the historic Dempsey-Gibbons World Heavyweight Championship fight in 1923 to serving as a hub for businesses, families, and travelers today, Shelby continues to honor its past while looking toward the future.
